Time Slips Back and Forth So Easily Sometimes

Time in the Beckett Coven series can be deceptive. Are we experiencing the present, or is it the past? Is it something our future selves are reliving, or are our ancestors sending us visions of what will be?

Although time in Whispers of the Pale Witch appears to be pretty linear, things are about to go off the rails as we head into book 2, Lies of the Bishop Stone, in 2027. Just remember as you read Whispers, it truly is the first in a three-book arc. Things that may seem unimportant right now will become hugely significant as we go further into the story.

Questions about certain characters may be left unanswered by the end of Whispers. Or you may feel someone didn’t get the punishment they deserved. Just remember as you finish this first book, no one’s story is done.

Another thing to keep in mind is that I am not just European-American descent, I’m also Native American descent, and I don’t always tell stories in a linear manner. You may be called upon at times, particularly as we go further along, to find the story. I don’t mean that it will be confusing, but I’m letting you know now you won’t have all the pieces to the puzzle until you finish it.

The Beckett Coven can be read on many levels. You can go as deep into the metaphors and symbolism as you like, or you can just hang on for the twister of a plot with lovable characters and enjoy that. Either way, I hope this story lingers with you long after you set down the book.

As we approach the release of Whispers of the Pale Witch, I will do one more of these cryptic sorts of blogs, but then I will shift to discussing some of the plot and characters in greater depth. Whenever I do this, I will make sure to clearly mark “Spoiler Alert” at the top of the blog in case anyone hasn’t yet finished reading. I also hope to do some live chat sessions so you ask me questions.
