Salem's End Cave

"What is this place?" Finlay asked. "This isn't just a cave."

Elizabeth wasn't surprised Finlay didn't know. Even people who's families lived in Salem for generations - for centuries - didn't know.

As part of her initiation into Hester's coven, Elizabeth swore a blood oath to protect this sacred sanctuary and the blessed relic once kept there. To keep a watchful eye over it, she bought her house as near to the cave as possible.

The pink and yellow hues in the sky waned into purples and dark blues. Elizabeth asked, "Shall we begin?"

"What libation are you using tonight?" Elizabeth asked. The elixir was not the typical red wine she put into her ceremonial chalice at home.

"Cognac," Finlay said as she tossed a match into the cauldron. The mix of alcohol, wood, and pinecones burst into beautiful yellow and blue flames. Then in a low, sultry voice she said, "I like my fire sexy." She winked at Elizabeth, for a moment forgetting they were no longer a couple, before drinking the remaining drops of liquor and setting aside the empty jar.
